VICTORIA

Support

Something not working, or just not sure how something works? Write to us — there's one person behind this app, and they read every message.

Email us

support@joinvictoria.app

We aim to reply within two business days. There's no phone line and no chat widget — email is the way to reach us.

Writing a useful bug report

The fastest way to report a problem is from inside the app: open Settings → General → Send Feedback / Contact Support. That starts an email already addressed to us with your app version, iOS version, device and install ID filled in — the four things we'd otherwise have to ask you for.

If you'd rather write to us directly, tell us what you tapped, what you expected, and what happened instead. A screenshot helps more than any description.

Common questions

Subscription & billing

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so they're cancelled in your Apple account rather than in VICTORIA. On your iPhone: open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose VICTORIA, then Cancel Subscription.

Cancelling during a free trial stops it from turning into a paid subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, and we have no ability to issue one ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple account that made the purchase.

I paid, but the app still shows the paywall.

Use Restore Purchases on the paywall screen — that asks Apple to re-check what your Apple account owns, which is what's needed after reinstalling the app or moving to a new phone. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple account that bought the subscription.

If it still doesn't come back, email us and include the receipt Apple sent you.

Scanning & logging

The scan read my label wrong.

Every scan opens a review screen before anything is saved, so you can correct any number the scan got wrong — that screen is there precisely because label photos vary.

It helps to shoot the panel straight on, filling the frame, in even light, with the packaging flattened rather than curved. If a particular label reads wrong every time, send us the photo and we'll use it to improve the reader.

The label lists values two ways — per serving and per 100 g. Which does the app use?

Both are read, and each appears as its own row on the review screen; you pick the one you want to log against. If you always work in 100 g or 100 mL, the app's New Food Defaults setting can pre-select that row for you every time.

A food I can find on the USDA website isn't in the app.

VICTORIA hides database entries that report no calories, or none of fat, carbs and protein. The U.S. Department of Agriculture publishes each laboratory analysis as it's finished, so some entries genuinely have those figures missing — and since a database food's values can't be typed over by hand, importing one would leave a food in your diary that silently logs as nothing.

In almost every case a complete entry for the same food is sitting further down the same list of results. If you've found one where it isn't, email us the food's name — that's exactly the case we want to hear about.

Which units can I log in?

Weight in grams, kilograms, ounces or pounds; volume in millilitres, litres, fluid ounces, cups, tablespoons or teaspoons; or simply a number of servings. Conversions stay inside their family — weight to weight, volume to volume — because turning a volume into a weight needs the food's density, which no label states.

Your own body weight has its own unit setting, under Settings → General → Body Weight Unit, separate from the units you log food in.

Does VICTORIA work without an internet connection?

Mostly, yes. Your diary, goals, weight log and your own food library all live on the phone and work anywhere. The two things that need a connection are scanning a label (the photo is sent out to be read) and searching the food database (the lookup goes to the USDA). Entering a food by hand always works.

I deleted something by mistake.

Deleted foods and goal schedules go to a Trash first, not straight to oblivion. Open the Trash (in the Food tab for foods, in Victories → Schedules for schedules), tap the item, and choose Restore. Only Delete Permanently removes it for good.

Why does the app ask for camera access?

For one thing only: photographing a nutrition label to scan it. You can decline and still use everything else — database search and manual entry don't need the camera.

Your data

How do I delete my data?

Your diary, goals and weight log are stored only on your own iPhone, so deleting the app removes all of it. There's no account on our side to close. The one record outside your phone is our subscription service's record for your install; email us from the app's Contact Support link and we'll delete it within 30 days.

To clear individual entries while keeping the app, delete them inside VICTORIA — each food, goal and weight entry can be removed on its own screen.

Why does VICTORIA ask to track me?

To learn which of our ads bring people to VICTORIA. Either answer is fine, and the app works exactly the same. Your food diary and health information are never used for ads. You can change your answer any time in your iPhone's Settings, under Privacy & Security, Tracking.

Can I export my data?

Not today. There's no export or backup feature yet, and because there's no account, your diary exists only on the phone it was logged on. If export matters to you, tell us by email — how often something is asked for is how we decide what to build next.

Can I use VICTORIA on more than one device?

Not yet. Because there's no account, your diary lives on the single phone you logged it on and doesn't sync to another device. Syncing across devices is something we want to build — if it matters to you, say so in an email, since that's how we decide what to work on next.

Which iPhone models does VICTORIA run on?

Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. VICTORIA is made for iPhone only.
